WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant Louisiana a total of $10,737,815.69 in Hurricanes Laura and Katrina relief. The New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board will receive $1,514,549.45 in Hurricane Katrina relief, Jefferson Davis Electric Co-Op Inc. will receive $5,411,686.13 in Hurricane Laura relief, Cameron Parish will receive $1,049,389.02 in Hurricane Laura relief, the City of Vinton will receive $1,716,016.12 in Hurricane Laura relief, and the City of Lake Charles will receive $1,046,174.97 in Hurricane Laura relief.
“Though years have passed since Hurricanes Laura and Katrina, Louisiana families continue to the feel their impact,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will help our communities recover from these terrible storms and better prepared to future natural disasters.”
