U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) today voted against gun legislation that could have serious implications for Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

“I have the utmost respect for Sen. Cornyn who negotiated this deal, but I could not vote in favor of this rushed and flawed gun bill,” Inhofe said. “Not only did this legislation fail to go through regular order, but its provisions have the potential to undermine the due process rights of law-abiding Americans everywhere—something I could never vote for. I have always been a protector of the Second Amendment and I will continue to vote against any efforts that impede Oklahoman’s right to keep and bear arms.”
