Sen. Cramer Announces $3.2 Million for Substance Abuse Prevention Efforts and Medical Research in North Dakota

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded the following five grants totaling $3,295,251:

  • $977,661 to Prevent Child Abuse North Dakota for the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Homevisiting Grant Program.
  • $729,567 to Sanford Research North for stress-related eating in obesity research.
  • $666,483 to North Dakota Department of Insurance for the “State Flexibility to Stabilize the Market Cycle II Grant Program.”
  • $525,058 to Standing Rock Sioux Tribe for tribal opioid abuse prevention programs.
  • $396,482 to Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara (MHA) Nation for mental health and substance abuse prevention.
