WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) applauded the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) for awarding more than $36 million in federal grants from the Office for Victims of Crime, a component of the DOJ’s Office of Justice Programs, to the state of Ohio. These grants will enhance crime victim services within the state by helping to bolster local community-based organizations that provide direct services to crime victims.

“I am pleased that DOJ has awarded over $36 million to the state of Ohio so that we can continue providing vital support for crime victims,” said Portman. “These grants have proven to be essential in helping crime victims in the immediate aftermath of crime and as they rebuild their lives.”
