WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) released the following statement on the passing of former Baltimore County Executive Ted Venetoulis.
“Myrna and I are mourning the loss of our friend Ted Venetoulis. An incredible person and active, life-long Democrat, Ted was always in motion. He had a quick wit, a constant smile, and loved to promote all things Baltimore … and Maryland.
“From my days in the House of Delegates to the Congress and Senate, it was a privilege to work side-by-side with Ted on meaningful issues that made life better for our community. In addition to his family, he always had a candidate or a cause to discuss. Most recently, his passion for saving local news and our hometown Baltimore Sun from the grasp of hedge fund managers gave him a mission on which to focus his attention.
“Ted worked hard at whatever he did and touched so many lives in a positive way. Our hearts go out to Ted’s wife Lynn, his children, and the entire Venetoulis family.”
