WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant Louisiana a total of $37,958,678.90 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricanes Katrina, Ida, and Laura. The City of New Orleans, the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections, the Louisiana Children’s Medical Center, the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA), the City of Iowa, the Terrebonne Parish School Board, the City of Grand Isle, St. John the Baptist Parish, and the Louisiana Department of Military will all benefit from this funding.
“Through the COVID-19 pandemic and multiple natural disasters, Louisiana families have remained resilient,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding gives our communities a boost while we recover and better prepare for future crises.”
