OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) issued the following statement after President Joe Biden announced his nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States following the retirement of Justice Stephen Breyer:
“Judge Jackson will be treated fairly and respectfully as she goes through the process. It is imperative we have justices who are committed to the original meaning of the Constitution and the rule of law. I plan to meet face-to-face with Judge Jackson in the days ahead to assess her nomination to serve on the nation’s highest court.”
Lankford opposed Jackson’s nomination to the DC Court of Appeals last year.
