OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today participated in the Pregnancy Resource Network Conference, hosted by Hope Pregnancy Centers, a ministry of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children located at Southern Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. This is an annual conference that includes the pregnancy centers in Oklahoma and other pro-life organizations, including 39 evangelical centers, 10 Catholic pregnancy resource centers, and a handful of other organizations.

“Every life—born or unborn—has value and worth, and I am proud to stand today with these prolife organizations and discuss the valuable services they provide pregnant women and their families,” said Lankford. “There are potentially huge victories for the respect of life coming in the courts this fall. After Texas’ abortion ban was allowed to go forward and as the Supreme Court prepares a case this fall that could overturn Roe v. Wade, we must stand for each life at each moment of their life. Thank you to all those who participated today for how you care for each mother and child. We should ensure we are a nation that stands for life together.”

Lankford remains a leader for defending life in Washington. In another victory for life, Lankford introduced an amendment that saved the long-standing Hyde and Weldon Amendments, which prohibit the use of taxpayer dollars to fund abortions and abortion-related discrimination against health care workers, including insurers.

Recently, Lankford applauded that the US Supreme Court allowed Texas’ abortion ban after an unborn baby’s heartbeat can be detected to take effect, which is a promising sign to defending life at all stages. Lankford joined an amicus brief signed by more than 220 Members of Congress supporting the state of Mississippi in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which presents the Supreme Court with the opportunity to overturn Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood
