Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) issued the following statement on the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia to the Supreme Court of the United States.
“The Supreme Court makes decisions on the most critical issues of our time, including a woman’s right to choose, voting rights, presidential power, campaign finance, and environmental protections. We need a justice who respects the rights and freedoms enshrined in our Constitution and the rule of law. In the coming weeks, I am looking forward to meeting with Judge Jackson to thoroughly discuss her record and to fulfilling my duties as a senator to provide advice and consent.”
