WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven joined Senators Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) in filing an amicus brief in support of the State of Mississippi in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The amicus brief urges the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold Mississippi’s law protecting life and prohibiting abortion after fifteen weeks of pregnancy.
“This case presents an opportunity for the Supreme Court to stand up and protect the unborn,” said Hoeven. “It’s critical that we protect the sanctity of life.”
In addition to Hoeven, Wicker and Hyde-Smith, the amicus brief was signed by Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Senators Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Richard Shelby, (R-Ala.), James M.
