WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), member of the Senate Environment and Public Works and Banking Committees, joined Larry Kudlow on Fox Business to discuss JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon’s CNBC interview blasting Joe Biden’s energy policies. He also emphasized the importance of American leadership in energy production, development, and innovation. Excerpts and full video are below.

On Jamie Dimon Blasting Joe Biden on Energy:

“I think one of the reasons we love [Jamie Dimon] so much is he’s got the guts to say the things that a lot of his peers may think, but they’re too concerned about being part of the cool kids club. Jamie has never suffered from that. Thank goodness he’s speaking up.”

“At the end of the day, we’re talking about the greatest experiment in the history of the world. That is America’s exceptionalism, which is built on self-governance and an economic model that’s built on capitalism. We should stop apologizing for it and start championing it. That’s what he’s doing… He sees this as more than just JPMorgan Chase surviving—I mean JPMorgan Chase is going to be fine—but is the American republic going to be fine? And is the world going to be fine if America shrinks from its leadership position in energy production and development?”

“Let’s not forget this is an Administration that’s negotiating with Iran. They want to make Iran a bigger player. So all of our enemies benefit from this behavior. Jamie Dimon is not stretching at all when he makes a war footing illustration. It’s absolutely right on point.”

On Biden’s Anti-Energy Policies:

“It’s not good for climate. We produce these products at a much cleaner standard than our adversaries. None of it makes sense at all other than John Kerry gets to transfer his climate guilt to polluting countries. If that makes him feel better swell, but that’s a pretty big consequence.”

“Prior to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Joe Biden weaponized natural gas by greenlighting the Nord Stream II pipeline. I was in Ukraine in the middle of January and every leader there including President Zelensky begged us not to do that. President [Biden] and I had an argument about it just before the shooting started. Well, here we are with our allies in Europe looking for help and we have an Administration that’s not only not helping them, [but] not even helping American energy, America’s own recession, and inflation challenges.”

On Inflation and Recession:

“People need to hear this. This is a long-term issue. This isn’t just a one-and-done. This isn’t a short-term issue. We’re in a recession. We see inflation at a high level if not rising a little bit… What’s at the heart of all of this is that we are trying to get out of a recession and out of inflation by stifling demand, which is what the Federal Reserve does. When you and I know full well that the [best] way to get out of a recession and inflation is to increase supply. To build and produce more of what we have and what we’ve been blessed with and lead from ahead.”
