Rubio Staff Hosts Critical Needs Assistance Centers in Lee and Charlotte Counties

Source: United States Senator for Florida Marco Rubio

Following the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and his staff will host Critical Needs Assistance Centers in Fort Myers and Port Charlotte to help residents affected by Hurricane Ian sign up for assistance from FEMA and provide casework assistance.

The centers will be open 8:00 AM EDT to 6:00 PM EDT on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (October 6-8, 2022). Application checklists are available in English and Spanish.

  • “The destruction is catastrophic. Long after the national media moves on, Floridians will continue to recover and rebuild. We’ll be right here with you, and the first step is making sure people and businesses impacted by Hurricane Ian are able to receive the assistance they’re entitled to under the law.” – Senator Rubio

The Critical Needs Assistance Centers will take place alongside the Department of Financial Services’ Initial Payment Center. Property insurance companies at each location will provide on-site assistance to policyholders to file a claim, ask questions and obtain needed insurance assistance and information.

This is a public-private partnership of federal and state agencies, charitable organizations, and companies gathering to provide critical resources to those impacted by Hurricane Ian. Food, water, and additional resources will be available. A full list of participating organizations is below.
