WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) released the statement below following President Biden’s signing of the Inflation Reduction Act into law.
“This is a historic win for American families. From lowering the cost of prescription drugs and tackling the climate crisis to reducing the deficit, the Inflation Reduction Act will make a real difference in the lives of so many. Additionally, this law includes provisions based on a bill that I’ve led in the Senate for years to allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, which will unleash the power of Medicare’s 50 million seniors to help lower drug costs for all Americans. This law will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent by 2030 and put our country on track to achieve a carbon neutral economy by 2050. The Inflation Reduction Act will help us address some of the most pressing challenges of our time, and I’m thrilled to see President Biden sign it into law.”
