WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded nearly $9.4 million to the Grand Forks International Airport. This funding was made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and will be used to support the construction of a self-serving fuel facility, a new 18-unit hangar for aircraft storage and to expand the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility.

“The Grand Forks International Airport continues to play a significant role in the future of aviation and pilot training,” said Hoeven. “This grant from DOT will help support construction of the initial phase of the airports’ ongoing expansion project, and ensure the airport is capable of continuing to provide safe and reliable service to the region.”
