Charleston, WV — U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee and both members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced the City of Ripley will receive $1,500,000 from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to support Phase II of its sewer project. The project will provide reliable wastewater treatment to 309 businesses and 1,941 households, and allow for new sewer connections to support economic growth.
“The Appalachian Regional Commission’s continued investment in revitalizing and strengthening Appalachia is great news for our state and the entire region. This funding for the City of Ripley will help strengthen local wastewater infrastructure, protect water quality and boost the local economies of Ripley and Evans. I look forward to seeing the positive impacts of this funding for years to come and will continue advocating for resources to support economic growth for our rural communities across the Mountain State,” Senator Manchin said.
