WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, released a statement following news that the Biden administration’s Department of Interior will cancel oil and lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico and the Cook Inlet.

“President Biden’s administration is actively making high gas prices worse,” said Dr. Cassidy. “When we need to unleash American energy production, the Biden administration kills opportunities at every turn. The administration’s actions over the past year and a half have been an all-out assault on American energy, Louisiana jobs, and families’ pocketbooks.”

In response to the Biden administration’s assault on domestic energy, Cassidy released a landmark energy & climate policy outline earlier this year detailing how the U.S. can successfully reset our energy and climate policy. The outline included Cassidy’s plan for an Operation Warp Speed for U.S. energy production to cut permitting red-tape and unleash U.S. energy.
