Funding Provided Through Portman’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) applauded the U.S. Army Corps fiscal year (FY) 2023 spend plan, which allocates more than $15.2 million for the operations and maintenance of civil works project across the state of Ohio. This funding was provided by Portman’s bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
“From the shores of Lake Erie to the banks of the Ohio River, the Army Corps’ presence is felt across our state. This additional $15 million to support the ongoing operations and maintenance of existing civil works project in Ohio will help ensure these projects continue to serve our communities now and into the future,” said Senator Portman. “This is another example of my bipartisan infrastructure law delivering results for Ohio and directly benefiting our communities.”
Earlier this year, Portman applauded the Army Corps FY 2022 spend plan for its first round of IIJA funding, which included critical investments for the State of Ohio totaling more than $20 million. In addition, the FY 2022 spend plan allocated $742 million for the Soo Locks and Brandon Road Lock and Dam projects that are of great importance to the health of the Great Lakes and to the economy of the broader Great Lakes region.
