U.S. Senator Ben Sasse, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, issued the following statement after the U.S. government formally accused Russia of committing war crimes in Ukraine.
“Putin and his army are war criminals. Putin has been committing war crimes for years. He bombs women and children today in Ukraine, six years ago in Syria, and 22 years ago in Chechnya. President Biden needs to use this NATO summit to put forward a plan to help Zelensky beat Putin with all the weapons, intel, and aid Ukraine needs for as long as they need it.”
