U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) made the following statement expressing support for defunding vaccine mandates:
“I want to express my explicit support for defunding vaccine mandates,” Inhofe said. “Like I have said before, these mandates are unconstitutional and wrong—they would put over half a million Oklahoma workers at risk of losing their jobs over a personal medical decision.”
*Sen. Inhofe could not attend the Senate vote because he is continuing to experience mild COVID symptoms. While he was not cleared to travel this week, he is a strong and consistent advocate against vaccine mandates. He’s sent multiple letters to Secretary Austin urging him to suspend the vaccine mandate for troops, and he’s also pushed back consistently against the private sector mandate since it was issued, including cosponsoring and voting for a CRA to overturn the mandate.
