WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, issued the following statement after the January 2022 Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers showed inflation rose 7.5% year-over-year.
“Joe Biden’s economy has Americans drowning in record-high inflation. There’s no relief in sight. Families in Wyoming and across the country are being forced to foot the bill for the Democrats’ reckless spending and misguided policies.
“People in Wyoming are now paying sky-high prices for gas, groceries, heating bills and rent. As a result, they are having to change how they live while Democrat-driven inflation keeps eating away at their paychecks. President Biden must pump the brakes on runaway spending and reverse the administration’s shutdown of American energy immediately.”
