WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) today voted to overturn President Biden’s vaccine mandate on private businesses. Under the Congressional Review Act (CRA), the House and Senate can vote to nullify executive actions. The CRA resolution passed the Senate by a bipartisan vote of 52-48. Senator Fischer was a co-sponsor of the resolution.

“I have and continue to encourage Nebraskans to consider getting vaccinated. I hope more Americans will join me in choosing to get the vaccine – but that is their choice.

“There is no question that President Biden’s vaccine mandate on businesses is divisive, counterproductive, and raises constitutional concerns. Businesses across Nebraska have reached out to me about the considerable damage this mandate will do to their employees and companies.

“There is simply no precedent for this type of intrusion into the American people’s private lives. The bipartisan challenge to this mandate underscores the administration’s unprecedented abuse of federal authority on this matter,” said Senator Fischer.

In October, Senator Fischer urged President Biden to reconsider his vaccine mandate.
