Senator Manchin announced awards, ranging from broadband expansion to economic development and more. More details on the awards are listed below.
- $16,072,811 from American Rescue Plan to expand broadband access through West Virginia schools and libraries: Senator Manchin announced another $16,072,811 from the American Rescue Plan for 13 West Virginia schools, school districts, libraries and other education organizations as part of the third and fourth rounds of the Emergency Connectivity Fund. This funding is distributed through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to help schools and libraries purchase laptops and tablets, Wi-Fi hotspots, modems, routers and broadband connections for students, staff and library visitors.
- $8,583,001 from FCC to expand broadband across West Virginia: Senators Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) announced West Virginia service provider Prodigi will receive $8,583,001 over the next decade from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) through the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) to expand broadband across West Virginia.
- $8,338,272 from HHS to prevent and control infectious diseases in West Virginia: Senators Manchin and Capito announced $8,338,272 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) for prevention and control of emerging infectious diseases.
- $1,750,000 from DOT for infrastructure improvement projects in Charleston: Senators Manchin and Capito announced $1,750,000 Rebuilding Americas Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equality (RAISE) grant to support the Charleston Capital Connector Project.
- $733,887 from ARC for three improvement projects in West Virginia: Senators Manchin and Capito announced a total of $733,887 in grant funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) for three projects to expand recovery to work programs, recovery ecosystems and a wastewater improvement project.
- $406,896 from FCC to expand telehealth services in Putnam County: Senators Manchin and Capito announced $406,896 from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to the FamilyCare Health Center in Scott Depot, West Virginia to expand telehealth services.
- $113,000 from USDA to boost economic development in Boone County: Senators Manchin and Capito announced $113,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to The Conservation Fund to support the city of Madison and Boone County in developing an outdoor recreational economy.
