U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) released the following statement mourning the death of Jean Rounds, loving wife to Sen. Mike Rounds and a long-time friend to Inhofe and his wife, Kay.
“This is a heartbreaking day as my wife, Kay, and I mourn the passing of Jean Rounds. Jean was a joy to be around always—a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She accompanied Mike, Kay and I on many trips and Kay and I came to know her well. I remember her cross-stitching everywhere we went—never sitting idly by. To know her was to love her.
“Our prayers are with Mike and his family at this time. Jean was a courageous fighter right to the very end and Kay and I pray her family and loved ones find solace in the fact that she is at peace.”
