WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant the Southwest Louisiana Electric Membership Corp. (SLEMCO) $5,301,281.57 for repairs to electric grid infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Delta. The grant is reimbursement for cost to replace over 150 electrical poles and 70 transformers.

“Storms like Delta, and more recently like Ida, show us how crucial it is to restore power after a disaster and strengthen our electrical grid,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding reimburses for the crucial work done to ensure Louisiana families had restored power after Delta.”
