WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee, issued the following statement on the bipartisan infrastructure package.
“I am disappointed that we could not move forward on the debate of a bipartisan infrastructure package, but I am encouraged that work is continuing so that we will be in a position to review and consider this legislation in the week to come. The final details will be critical. We must be bold to deliver the job opportunities and the infrastructure for the future of our nation, including fully funding the investments detailed in the Surface Transportation Reauthorization Act that was approved unanimously by the EPW Committee, and the Drinking Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Act that passed the Senate with a resounding 89-2 margin.”
