WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) approved $456,800 for the Village of Lowellville to construct Phase II of the McGaffney Road access extension. It is estimated that the road extension project will spur private investment to the site and help create at least 20 full time jobs.
“When we invest in infrastructure that improves access to business districts like the industrial park in Lowellville, it helps bring jobs to the community,” said Brown. “I’m excited to see this investment help Lowellville’s economy grow.”
In addition to the funds provided by the Appalachian Regional Commission, the Village of Lowellville will contribute $48,794 to the project, bringing the total project funding to $505,594.
