Sen. Cramer: North Dakota Receives Funds for Head Start Programs and Produce Safety Efforts

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded the following three grants totaling $4,747,976: 

  • $2,775,373 to Grand Forks Public School District #1 in Head Start funds,
  • $1,889,900 to Bismarck Public School District #1 in Head Start funds, and
  • $82,703 to the North Dakota Department of Agriculture for produce safety efforts.

Head Start and Early Head Start programs promote school readiness for young children and toddlers from low-income families by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development as well as early learning, health, and family well-being.
