BISMARCK – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), member of the Senate Armed Services and Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committees, announced the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Army Corps) Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) work plan allocated $22,838,000 to support North Dakota water resource initiatives, environmental projects, and operations and maintenance (O&M).

Senator Cramer helped craft the Water Resources Development Act of 2022, which was signed into law on December 23, 2022. In it, Senator Cramer, who has jurisdiction over the Army Corps Civil Works Programs as Ranking Member of the EPW Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee, secured an additional $100 million in authorized funding for the Army Corps’ Section 594 Program. “The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Water Resources Development Acts have included significant wins for North Dakota,” said Senator Cramer. “This builds upon the success by funding critical support for existing projects in the state. I look forward to working with North Dakotans and the Army Corps to meet the needs of our state.”
