BISMARCK – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) was named Co-Chair of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption (CCA), a joint selection by the CCA and the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI). He joins current Co-Chairs Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-AL), and Congressman Adam Smith (D-WA).

“Helping somebody with adoption is perhaps the most rewarding victory. Being an adoptive father myself, it’s extra special,” said Senator Cramer. “Policies matter. What we do as a coalition – knocking down barriers for people who want to build a family – is a big deal. My pledge is to ensure as many children as possible know the love and support of a permanent family by encouraging adoption and involving even more people in engagement opportunities. Thank you to my Co-Chairs, Senator Klobuchar and Congressmen Aderholt and Smith, for welcoming me into this new, expanded role of service. It’s my honor. ”

“As an adoptive father, Senator Cramer understands firsthand the importance of families who open their hearts and homes to children,” said Senator Klobuchar. “I look forward to working with Senator Cramer and our House co-chairs to improve the adoption process and help every child find the safe, loving home they deserve.”

“The Congressional Coalition on Adoption is committed to advocating for policies that improve foster care and encourage permanency,” said Congressman Aderholt. “Senator Cramer and our CCA leaders will continue to pursue policy on behalf of our mission: a world in which every child knows the love and support of a family.”

“The Congressional Coalition on Adoption is committed to removing policy barriers that prevent children from finding safe, nurturing, and permanent families,” said Congressman Smith. “I look forward to working closely with Senator Cramer to advocate for policies that promote permanency for every child and family in the U.S. and around the world.”

Per the CCAI, the CCA is the largest bicameral, bipartisan caucus in Congress.
