WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) joined Brian Brenberg, Jackie DeAngelis, and Taylor Riggs on Fox Business to discuss debt limit negotiations, energy and the economy, and the Air Force’s letter on the Fufeng Group’s land purchase 12 miles from the Grand Forks Air Force Base. Excerpts and full video are below.

On Energy, Economy:

“Just this week, the Administration canceled two critical mining projects in the United States, one in Alaska, and one next door to my state, in Minnesota. […] So, they’re all in on electric vehicles, but they’re not in — in fact, they’re all out — on helping the supply chain come here to the United States of America, which could create jobs, provide opportunity, grow the supply side of our economy…and this disconnect in their economic model is going to be a perpetual problem, no matter how high interest rates get and how inflation responds.”

On Strategic Decoupling from China:

“Not only is [the plot of land] 12 miles from a very sensitive Air Force base, but it’s also part of our critical supply chain — and that is, of course, food. If we haven’t learned yet that we need to decouple ourselves — our food supply, our energy supply, our critical mineral supply, pharmaceutical supply… these critical supply chains — from China, we haven’t learned anything. [This process] was tough on the [Grand Forks] community, but I think it sends a model nationwide on how we can handle some of these investments in the future.”
