WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) released the following statement on the arraignment and unsealed indictment of former President Donald Trump:
“It’s clear that this is a politically-motivated prosecution against President Trump. The DOJ previously looked at the facts and decided there was no case to pursue. The current Manhattan D.A. chose to go in a different direction after receiving pressure from the far left to go after Trump. Politics should never tip the scales of justice, and Congress has every right to demand answers and accountability from the Manhattan D.A.’s office, especially as this directly relates to federal law.”
