WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that Louisiana will receive a total of $4,475,692.00 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in relief for Hurricanes Laura and Ida. The Society of the Roman Catholic Church of the Diocese of Lake Charles will receive $2,355,088.37 for emergency protective measures as a result of Hurricane Laura, and the Lafourche Parish School Board will receive $2,120,603.63 for permanent restoration required as a result of Hurricane Ida.
“Louisiana families continue to show strength in recovery from recent disasters,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will provide our communities with the funds needed to heal and prepare for future storms.”
