WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced that he will continue serving on the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee, through which he works to advance nuclear missions in Minot and the space and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) missions in Grand Forks and Fargo.
“North Dakota’s role in our national defense continues to grow. This is due in large part to our efforts to modernize our nuclear forces, strengthen the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations in Grand Forks and support the Air Guard’s UAS mission in Fargo,” said Hoeven. “Moreover, we are bringing critical new missions to the state, including the Sky Range hypersonic missile testing program at Grand Sky and the low-Earth orbit satellite mission, which will serve as the backbone for all U.S. military communications. My continued role on the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee puts me in a strong position to advance these important priorities and expand our state’s leadership in these critical operations.”
In addition, Hoeven will continue to serve as the Ranking Member for the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee and on the appropriations committees for: Energy and Water Development; Military Construction and Veterans Affairs; Transportation; and Interior-EPA.
