WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) released the following statement regarding the Biden administration’s announcement that it will send Patriot air defense missile systems to Ukraine to support its defense against Russia’s missile strikes on civilian infrastructure.
“I have been calling on the Biden administration to send Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine and I’m pleased it is now taking action. These defensive systems are critical in Ukraine’s efforts to protect its people. As Russia continues its brutal and illegal strikes to plunge Ukraine into the cold and dark as winter sets in, the U.S. must continue to support Ukraine’s efforts to defend against and defeat Russia’s war of aggression.”
