Sen. Cramer: USDA Awards Tribal Colleges Nearly $1.4 Million in Grant Funding

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Rural Development awarded a total of $1,392,068 in Tribal College Initiative Grants: 

  • $348,017 for Sitting Bull College to construct an outdoor classroom/auditorium adjacent to the academic center. The facility will provide opportunities for faculty and students to expand the current academic offerings. 
  • $348,017 for Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College to improve the area surrounding the campus building in New Town. Renovations will include replacing the existing sidewalks and a retaining wall on the northwest side of the building to enhance accessibility and safety, as well as prevent water from entering the building during heavy rains or snow run off. 
  • $348,017 for United Tribes Technical College to finance the reconstruction and rehabilitation of portions of All Nations Circle at the intersection of University Drive. 
  • $348,017 for Cankdeska Cikana Community College to support campus facility improvements, including new concrete near the entries, new paint and flooring for two suites, air conditioning for the server room, heating, ventilation and air conditioning updates for Certificates Dakota Language area, and window replacement.
