CANDO, N.D. – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) celebrated the groundbreaking of the Towner County Medical Center today. The new medical center will include a hospital, clinic, emergency department, surgical suite, and nursing home.

“I am inspired by the Towner County community for stepping up to not only provide access to quality health care, but invest in its future. This new medical center will lead to a better quality and higher volume of life for the surrounding area while contributing to the overall standard of living because this facility will attract high-paying jobs and employers. This place, Cando, will forever be home. Thanks for the honor of letting me be with the community on this great day,” said Senator Cramer.

The 76,000-square-foot hospital will include 10 acute care beds, five basic care beds, and three long-term care beds. Much of this project was made possible by a $10 million loan from USDA Rural Development. Once construction begins, the expected timeline for completion is roughly two years.
