WASHINGTON, D.C. –  U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released the following statement today on the passing of former Green County Judge-Executive Morris Goff:

“Elaine and I are mourning the loss of our good friend, former Green County Judge-Executive Morris Goff. I had the pleasure of working alongside Judge Goff during his two terms leading the Green County Fiscal Court and remember him as an astute public servant and good friend to all. His legacy extends far past his career in local government and includes building a successful small business, serving actively in the Greensburg Baptist Church, and leading a large family that has planted roots all across Kentucky.

“Perhaps Judge Goff’s greatest accomplishment occurred outside the halls of government. He coached his local American Legion baseball team and led the squad all the way to the World Series. Through his team and other activities, Judge Goff created a web of community involvement extending far past the Fiscal Court that touched all aspects of life in Green County. I offer my deepest condolences to Judge Goff’s children, Darrell and Van, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren as they grieve the loss of this first-rate Kentucky leader.”
