OMA to Receive $20 Million for Terminal Access Road

LNK to Receive $850,000 for Terminal Modernization

LINCOLN, NEB. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer, a member of the Senate Commerce Committee, today announced two major grants for Nebraska airports. Omaha Eppley Airport will receive $20 million toward their terminal access road project. The Lincoln Airport will receive $850,000 for terminal modernization. These Airport Terminal Program Grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) were made possible by the infrastructure law, which Senator Fischer supported.

“It’s exciting to see investments from the infrastructure law go to airport projects that will make a difference for Nebraska travelers. At Eppley Airport, the $20 million federal grant will contribute to the new terminal access road. And at the Lincoln Airport, the $850,000 federal grant is going to allow for improvements to modernize the terminal. This is big news for Nebraskans who rely on our airports for travel, business, and to stay connected,” said Senator Fischer.

“The Omaha Airport Authority is pleased to be the recipient of $20 million in Airport Terminal Program funding from the Federal Aviation Administration via the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. We are grateful to Senator Fischer for her efforts to lead the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, as it will create many benefits for travelers at Eppley Airfield from Omaha and throughout Nebraska.  These funds will support the next phase of improving the Eppley Airfield Terminal Entrance Drive.  This is good news for travelers who will benefit from increased capacity, improved throughput, and an enhanced customer experience for decades to come,” said Dave Roth, Chief Executive Officer of the Omaha Airport Authority.

“The Lincoln Airport is thankful for the grant provided by the Airport Terminal Program portion of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The Lincoln Airport was awarded $850,000 to help replace existing terminal cooling towers (HVAC) and equipment. This is incredibly timely as this was not contemplated in our original terminal modernization project, LNK Next, but these funds give us leverage to complete additional needed infrastructure improvements. We are very thankful for Senator Fischer and her team, for their help in securing these funds and for further supporting aviation in the Lincoln community,” said Chad Lay, Director of Planning at The Lincoln Airport.

The FAA today announced a total of approximately $1 billion in Airport Terminal Program Grant funding for airports across the country. These funds were created by the infrastructure law. Medium hub airports like OMA received 15 percent of the total funding and primary non-hub airports like LNK received up to 10 percent of the total funding.
