WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Office of Head Start, has awarded funding to three North Dakota tribes:
- Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians – $1,647,772
- Standing Rock Sioux Tribe – $1,406,427
- Three Affiliated Tribes – $1,218,684
“Head Start provides important services to eligible children and families, and today’s funding ensures these three communities are able to continue helping prepare children for school,” said Hoeven.
