Ahead of votes, U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, spoke to the nomination of Rachelle Crowe to the Southern District of Illinois.
Key Durbin quotes:
“Before she started her service in the Illinois State Senate in 2018, Ms. Crowe spent 13 years as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office, prosecuting violent crimes, general felonies, and abuse and neglect cases.”
“There has not been a confirmed U.S. Attorney for this Southern District since 2015. The Trump Administration did not put forward a nominee to fill this spot.”
“I am confident that Ms. Crowe has the integrity and qualifications to serve.”
