BISMARCK – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development awarded the following funding to improve North Dakota’s water infrastructure:
- $2,800,000 loan to the City of Richardson to complete a city-wide street and storm sewer improvement. The project will consist of milling, patching, and hot bituminous pavement overlay, curb and valley gutter repairs, and storm sewer culvert replacement. Richardton’s streets are currently in very poor condition due to age, with longitudinal and traverse cracking, raveling, bituminous patching, and rutting.
- $30,000 grant to the City of Leeds to review the existing water system in Leeds, ND including the water source, treatment methods, storage facilities, distribution system, and especially areas of concern with low pressure and leaks. This will allow the town of Leeds to plan for the future of its water infrastructure.
