BOWLING GREEN, KY – U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), while visiting Warren County today, released the following statement on the announcement that Bowling Green, Kentucky will soon be home to a $2 billion electric vehicle battery manufacturing facility:
“Congratulations to Judge Buchanon, Mayor Alcott, Ron Bunch, and the entire community on today’s historic announcement of Bowling Green’s largest-ever – and Kentucky’s second largest-ever – economic development project. This new electric vehicle battery gigafactory will create 2,000 new jobs and invest $2 billion in the Transpark. This is great news for South Central Kentucky and will solidify the Commonwealth’s role as a leading automotive manufacturing state.
“Bowling Green and Warren County continue to earn national recognition for their success attracting industry and have created record investment in the Transpark year over year. I want to credit your local leadership, and particularly Judge Buchanon, who worked to establish the Transpark nearly 30 years ago. I also want to acknowledge the important role TVA will play in this project, supplying onsite power generation for this facility, which will be powered by 100% renewable energy. I was proud to work closely with TVA leadership to support this expansion.”
