“Outgrowing, out-innovating, and outcompeting China by unleashing the talents of American innovators and workers in all parts of the country is a national security priority,” – Sen. Young.
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.), the lead Republican sponsor of the Senate-passed U.S. Innovation and Competition Act, issued the following statement after being selected to serve as a conferee on the forthcoming conference committee to continue debate on the legislation:
“Since I introduced this legislation over a year ago, my goal has been positioning the United States to win the global competition for leadership of the 21st century. Outgrowing, out-innovating, and outcompeting China by unleashing the talents of American innovators and workers in all parts of the country is a national security priority.
“Our Senate-passed bill focuses on directly confronting China, which is why it received strong bipartisan support. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure the final legislation reflects the Senate bill and secures American leadership for decades to come.”
