Rosen Votes to Confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court

With A Bipartisan Confirmation Vote, Ketanji Brown Jackson Becomes First Black Woman & First Former Public Defender To Serve On The U.S. Supreme Court

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) voted to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to be Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Following a bipartisan vote, Judge Jackson was confirmed today by the U.S. Senate as the first Black woman and first former public defender to serve on the Supreme Court.

“Today I had the immense honor of representing Nevada in voting to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court. After meeting with her earlier this week, it was clear Judge Jackson is highly qualified for this lifetime appointment, and that she will be fair and independent,” said Senator Rosen. “Judge Jackson’s historic confirmation will bring an important and unique perspective to the nation’s highest court, and I am confident she will be an exceptional Justice.”

Earlier this week, Senator Rosen met with Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson and announced her support following the meeting. Judge Jackson was unanimously rated “Well Qualified” for the Supreme Court by the American Bar Association (ABA).
