WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) applauded the announcement that Nevada would be receiving $89 million for a range of public transportation projects as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law she helped write and pass.
“Access to public transit is critical for Nevadans, for our state, and for our economy,” said Senator Rosen. “I’m proud to have helped secure more than $89 million in funding for Nevada’s transit system through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that I helped write and pass. This will provide critical transportation resources to better connect our communities, help our economy, and ensure Nevada families and workers can travel safely across our state.”
The Federal Transit Administration announced today funding levels for the coming year for transportation programs nationwide, which includes $59,073,252 for the Las Vegas-Henderson area, $11,668,176 for the Reno area, and $4,203,118 for the Lake Tahoe region. This funding will allow Nevada transportation agencies to buy new buses and rail cars, modernize their fleets, and transition to clean energy technologies.
