COVID-19 Vaccine Information
Am I eligible to receive the vaccine?
Everyone aged 5 and older is currently eligible to receive a vaccine in California. Visit myturn.ca.gov or call 833-422-4255 to schedule an appointment at a state-run vaccination site.

Why should I get vaccinated?

Is the vaccine safe?
COVID-19 vaccines authorized by the FDA have been shown to be safe and effective in clinical trials. On August 23, 2021 the FDA approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. I’ve already had COVID-19, should I get a COVID-19 vaccine?
Yes. At this time, we do not know how long someone is protected from getting sick again after recovering from COVID-19.
Booster shots
Everyone ages 12 and older can get a booster shot.
If you received Pfizer-BioNTech:
You should get a booster if you are:
- Ages 12 years and older
You can get a second booster if you are:
- Ages 50 years and older
When to get a booster:
At least 5 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination series. If eligible for a second booster, at least 4 months after your first booster.
If you recieved Moderna:
You should get a booster if you are:
- Ages 18 years and older
You can get a second booster if you are:
- Ages 50 years and older
When to get a booster:
At least 5 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination series. If eligible for a second booster, at least 4 months after your first booster.
If you received Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen:
You should get a booster if you are:
- Ages 18 years and older
You can get a second booster if you received Johnson and Johnson’s Janssen for both your primary dose and first booster, regardless of age. Adults 50 and older can get a second booster regardless of what type of booster they received.
When to get a Johnson and Johnson booster:
At least 2 months after receiving your J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccination. If eligible for a second booster, at least 4 months after your first booster.
