Washington, DC – Last week, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) supported fellow West Virginian, Chris Williamson, to lead the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) at the Department of Labor. Mr. Williamson was unanimously confirmed by the Senate last week.
“Chris Williamson is a proud, hardworking West Virginian who has made our entire state proud. Last week, he was unanimously confirmed to become the MSHA Administrator, and I can’t think of a better person for the job. Chris has served as a public servant for many years, including as part of my staff serving the great people of West Virginia. I look forward to working with him as he continues fighting for the safety and security of our miners in West Virginia and across the country.”
