Inhofe Again Opposes Procedural Vote on Democrat Election Takeover Bill

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) today voted once again against a procedural motion to take up far-left election takeover legislation that seeks to undermine the integrity of Oklahoma’s elections. Last fall, the Senate twice rejected procedural votes on Democrat-backed election takeover legislation.

“This election takeover legislation the Democrats are deceptively passing off as voting rights legislation is really just one big lie that would federalize our elections as a desperate way to hold onto power and to force their radical agenda on Oklahoma families,” Inhofe said. “More than 90 percent of Americans believe it is easy to vote, but Sen. Schumer won’t allow the truth to get in the way of the narrative he’s spinning. Here are the facts. This bill would weaken or outright end state voter ID laws, use taxpayer dollars to fund politicians’ campaigns, mandate mail-in ballots and allow ballot trafficking. It would also make Election Day a federal holiday, which would cost taxpayers a whopping $818 million dollars every year it’s observed. This is yet another repackaged, radical ‘reform’ bill that would undermine Oklahoma’s safe and secure election laws that make it easy to vote and hard to cheat.”
