WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) released the following statement after voting for the Congressional Review Act resolution, to formally oppose President Biden’s vaccine mandate on private businesses.

“President Biden’s unpopular, heavy-handed mandate is clear government overreach that will weaken our struggling economy, sow more distrust of vaccines, and—perhaps most importantly—threaten public safety,” said Senator Scott. “In the midst of an alarming, nationwide crime wave, these mandates are further handicapping our police departments and first responders. I’m proud to join my colleagues in voting against this harmful mandate and standing up for communities across our nation that are prepared to thrive, if the government would just get out of the way.”
