WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the Appalachian Regional Commission’s (ARC) Investments Supporting Partnerships in Recovery Ecosystems (INSPIRE) Initiative has awarded a $500,000 grant to Kno-Ho-Co Ashland Community Action Commission (KHCA) in Coshocton, Ohio, for the Recovery Network Implementation Program. Funding will help 126 participants receive housing, substance use disorder (SUD) recovery support, and workforce development training in order to secure employment with a cohort of 36 various employers. The program will work to continue KHCA’s current growth plans to ensure SUD-impacted residents have the support to reenter the workforce and become productive members of the Coshocton community.

“This new award will direct investments to workers in recovery in Coshocton,” said Brown. “This investment not only promotes economic development but it will also help those in recovery from substance use disorder by providing them the tools and resources they need to reenter the workforce.”

In addition to the $500,000 grant from ARC, local funds will provide $504,393 to bring the total funding amount to $1,004,393.

ARC is an economic development agency of the federal government with the mission to build community capacity and strengthen economic growth in the Appalachian region.
